Q: How early should I arrive?
A: Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your first treatment (excluding Salon services) to allow time to check-in with our receptionists and to enable you to enjoy the facility. This extra time will also allow you to get changed, get comfortable and relax, as well as fill out any necessary paperwork. Our fitness room, locker rooms, steam rooms, saunas, and resting rooms may be enjoyed before and after your treatment. Getting here early is the most important tip for enjoying your experience with us. Please note that should you arrive late, your treatment will end as scheduled as a courtesy to the next guest.

Q: Should I tell the therapist about any medical conditions?
A: To comply with New York State law and also as a guideline for the therapist, a brief medical questionnaire will be given to you at the time of your check-in. Please indicate any medical conditions, allergies (including shellfish and nuts) or disabilities that may be affected by your treatment such as high blood pressure, allergies, heart ailments or pregnancy.

Q: What should I wear?
A: You will be provided with a robe, slippers and towels at the time of check-in. Reflexology and Shiatsu massages do not require disrobing; loose clothing is recommended. Upon entering your private treatment room, the therapist will leave the room so you may disrobe. For most body services we recommend you undress completely. Special attention to draping is practiced during all treatments for your comfort and privacy. You may wish to wear a bathing suit for hydrotherapy services or in the steam room and sauna although it is not required. Your personal comfort is always what is most important to us!

Q: Can I bring personal possessions?
A: August Moon Spa regrets that it cannot be held responsible for the loss of or damage to personal articles, including clothing and accessories. We ask that you remove all jewelry before any service. We also recommend leaving your jewelry at home or in the safe provided in your guest room if you are staying with us.

Q: Can I wear makeup to my appointment?
A: During facials and body treatments, your makeup will be removed for you. If you are scheduled for a massage and would like to remove your makeup prior to your treatment, we will be more than happy to provide you with the appropriate products to do so.

Q: Is there any pre-treatment planning I need to do?
A: Men and women – if you are having a body treatment we recommend you shave no less than 24 hours before your appointment, in order to prevent any discomfort during the exfoliation portion of the treatment. We also suggest that you drink plenty of water before and after treatments and that neither coffee nor alcohol is consumed prior to your August Moon Spa treatment. If you are currently using or have used a topical/internal skincare prescription/medication within the last three months, please let us know before your treatment so we can be sure you are a good candidate for the specific therapy you are scheduled for.

Q: What can I expect from my esthetician during my skin care treatment?
A: Your esthetician will begin by cleansing and analyzing your skin, then discussing with you the best options for you to reach your skin care goals. Please let her know if you have any concerns or skin care needs you would like her to focus on.

Q: What can I expect during a body wrap?
A: Body treatments provide the ultimate relaxation. August Moon Spa’s body wraps start with a full body exfoliation, this step will remove dead skin cells and leave your skin smooth and glowing. It also feels great, aiding in circulation by stimulating blood flow. Depending on which body wrap you choose, the next step is a warm mask – whether it is seaweed or grapes you will loose yourself as our expert therapists apply the mask then wrap you in a warm blanket. While you are wrapped, enjoy a relaxing neck, shoulder and scalp massage. You are never left alone during your wrap. After the wrap, the mask is removed and a light head to toe hydrating massage is performed. We provide disposable underwear for both men and women during body treatments, and you are always draped by a towel or blanket. Your comfort is always our main concern.

Q: Considerations for Pregnancy
A: We suggest avoiding treatments using heat and deep pressure. Also, avoid the steam rooms, and saunas. August Moon Spa has many wonderful treatments and beauty home care products for you to choose from during this very special time. We understand your need for special care and want to help you enjoy this unique time.

Q: How do I choose the right treatments and products?
A: We offer complimentary consultations. Whether you are looking for a skin care regimen to use at home or have specific treatment questions, please feel free to book a complimentary consultation with our many expert therapists and clinicians. All of the spa products we use in our treatments are also available for purchase in the reception area. Please ask your therapist or the receptionist about this.

Q: Can I book extra services while I am at the spa?
A: Absolutely, please ask! We will always try our very best to accommodate your wishes although we do recommend you book your treatments in advance. Some treatments may be performed together, such as a manicure and a facial or a massage, or add a foot reflexology appointment to your facial treatment, a waxing to your body treatment, there are many options.

Q: Spa Etiquette
A: The Spa is an adult environment of relaxation and tranquility. Please respect all of our guests’ right to privacy and quiet by turning off pagers and cellular phones when you enter the Spa. Age requirement is 16 to use the spa facilities unless accompanied by a adult. For the Teen Scene treatments, all of our spa guests between the ages of 12 and 16 must be accompanied by and adult. Gratuities for exceptional service may be made at your discretion. A 20% gratuity is customary.

Q: How does the tipping process work? What is normal?
A: Our prices do not reflect gratuities for Spa personnel. Tipping is of course optional, but for a job well done, it is definitely appreciated. You will find envelopes at the front desk or you can hand it directly to your technician.

Q: What is you Cancellation Policy?
A: August Moon Spa respectfully requests that appointment changes or cancellations be made 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Missing an appointment, canceling, or rescheduling an appointment within 24 hours will result in a fee assessed at the full value of the missed appointment.

Q: Do you offer Gift Certificates?
A: Give the gift that always fits. August Moon Spa Gift Certificates make the perfect gift for even the most hard to shop for person on your list. Gift Certificates are available for all services or monetary amounts. We are happy to help you select the perfect gift for your friends, family and business associates. August Moon Spa Gift Certificates are packaged in elegant signature wrap. Monetary amounts will include a service menu in the packaging. Pls note that: • Gift Certificates are redeemable only on premises at the August Moon Spa. • Gift Certificates have a one year expiration date. • Gift Certificates are non-refundable and can not be redeemed for cash. Q: Do you offer Special Group Rates?
A: We love groups and will gladly provide you with super special group rates as well as rates for catered parties. Please ask our Receptionist for more information.

Q: Appointments and Reservations
A: Reservations for your appointment are held with a credit card, advanced payment, or gift certificate. We recommend you schedule your spa appointment well in advance so that we can meet your requests.

A: The spa is open from 9:00am to 8:00pm daily.
